Collective show together with Johanna Schmal and Valerio Vidali at Segunda Galería in Bilbao, Spain. 2022
The series of drawings Kamanchaka (darkness in Aymara) is inspired by the journeys of scientists, botanists and fortune hunters who travelled to extreme areas at the end of the 18th century in search of new civilisations. There they were confronted not only with the difficulties of the rugged geography, but also with a new paradigm.
The drawings attempt to scrutinise this confrontation with the unknown through everyday scenes with the same fascination of someone opening their eyes to a new world.
